Who doesn’t want to keep their kid’s smiles healthy and whole? But sometimes, no matter how well you make sure they brush their teeth or how often they floss, their teeth are just prone to cavities.
Why? Some teeth have deeper grooves, fissures and pits than others. These grooves can collect and hold plaque in a way that makes cleaning the teeth very difficult for young brushers. And we all know that when plaque stays on teeth it leads to cavities.
That’s why I recommend dental sealants for all of my young patients – and even some older ones who have more texture to their molars. Sealants smooth the tooth’s surface so the plaque won’t stick as well and so cleaning is a snap.
